Emerge JA Global Summit: +300 JA Alumni from 70 countries came together to connect and shape the future
The Emerge JA Global Summit, the global forum for Junior Achievement alumni, was held in Porto, Portugal, bringing together more than 300 JA alumni from over 70 countries.
This annual event is a unique platform that connects alumni from around the world, offering them the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and build a better future together.
The Emerge JA Global Summit, recently held in the vibrant city of Porto, Portugal, gathered more than 300 Junior Achievement alumni from over 70 countries worldwide. Over the course of three days, these emerging leaders came together with a shared purpose: to learn, inspire, and chart a path toward a brighter, more collaborative future. Organized by JA Worldwide and JA Europe, the event not only served as a platform to connect alumni but also as a catalyst for change, challenging each participant to take an active role in their communities and beyond.
Throughout the summit, the event emphasized the importance of inclusive leadership, innovation, and global collaboration, highlighting that the strength of the JA movement lies in its diversity and its ability to bring together people from different cultures, experiences, and perspectives toward a common goal. As we reflect on the key moments of the summit, we are excited to share some of the highlights and lessons learned that our representatives will bring back to their countries to continue making a positive impact in their communities.
Day 1: Opening Doors to Leadership
The first day began with the Alumni Leaders Academy, where presidents, vice presidents, and board members discussed strategies to expand the JA movement in their countries and regions. Cameron Sinclair, founder of the Worldchanging Institute, delivered an inspiring keynote, encouraging alumni to think beyond traditional boundaries to create innovative solutions.
Day 2: Emerging Beyond Borders
The second day was filled with panels, workshops, and masterclasses at Porto’s Casa da Música, covering key topics such as leadership, project management, and innovation. Distinguished JA alumni, including entrepreneurs and community leaders, shared their stories and experiences, enriching the knowledge of all participants.
Day 3: Building the Future Together
The final day of the Emerge JA Global Summit focused on the future of JA alumni entrepreneurs, highlighting the importance of continuing to support the next generation of leaders. The event concluded with a special celebration of the 20th anniversary of JA Alumni Europe, reminding us of the power of a united global network.
